Jaden Daly, Founder and Managing Editor

The play-by-play voice of United States Merchant Marine Academy football since 2011, Jaden established Daly Dose of Hoops to fill in the gaps between his broadcasts, but it has since taken on a life of its own. Over the past two decades, Jaden has gradually expanded the site’s profile from supplemental coverage of St. John’s University in its infancy, adding mid-majors in New York and New Jersey before ultimately becoming a staple among Northeast college basketball programs at all levels of Division I. In 2024, he reached the crown jewel of this outlet’s coverage by taking it to the Final Four for the first time, when the University of Connecticut repeated as national champions. UConn has since become a pillar of coverage for Daly Dose of Hoops, along with the rest of the Big East Conference and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. In 2025, Jaden added the city of Philadelphia and the Big 5 to the site’s repertoire.

A 2008 graduate of St. John’s University, Jaden also served as the play-by-play voice for St. John’s baseball through a majority of the 2010s, as well as Manhattan College men’s and women’s basketball in the past. Jaden was on the call as the Jaspers successfully defended their MAAC championship in 2015 against longtime rival Iona. His first foray into the media world came in 2007, when he joined WSJU, the on-campus radio station at St. John’s. Shortly thereafter, he became the sports director in addition to his duties as primary play-by-play announcer for men’s and women’s basketball, as well as baseball. In 2010, he began to serve as a public address and play-by-play announcer at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, a position he held for four years.

A native of Queens, Jaden continues to reside there, but can be found more frequently on a train or bus along the I-95 and Northeast corridors.
