Jacob Conley, Southern Bureau Writer

Jacob Conley is an award-winning freelance journalist and has been a part of the Daly Dose of Hoops family since the beginning of the 2022 season. He is a 2008 graduate of The Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina with an English/Creative Writing degree, and brings nearly 20 years of journalism experience to the team.

During that time, Conley lent his talents to many local, national and international outlets, covering major events in the process. They include: The Little League World Series, The 2024 Copa América Soccer Tournament, Liverpool Football Club (Soccer) vs. Manchester United, the American Legion Baseball World Series, along with multiple MLB and NFL games.

Conley’s main beat for Daly Dose Of Hoopes is covering Gardner-Webb and Big South basketball.  In addition, he has provided coverage of the 2024 NCAA Tournament in Charlotte, N.C., and then the 2026 March Madness in Greenville, S.C.

Conley currently lives on his family farm in Henrietta, North Carolina, with his Chesapeake Bay Retriever Gabe, his cats Poirot and Peaches and his pet duck Corona. In his free time, Conley enjoys reading, attending Charlotte FC soccer matches as a season ticket holder and going to concerts and musicals, along with many other eclectic activities. He is also an avid handcyclist who pedals with his arms 180 miles from Charlotte to Myrtle Beach to raise disability awareness and funds for the Adaptive Sports & Adventures Program.
